The May 21 edition of WWE Raw wasn’t the most exciting Raw of all-time, but it did feature a few important Money In The Bank pay-per-view developments.

Last night’s WWE Raw saw another member of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match determined as well as a couple other matches at Money In The Bank made official.

With still four weeks until the pay-per-view, the red brand can continue to build up its storylines and hopefully improve several of them moving forward.  With that being said, let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the May 21 edition of WWE Raw.

5. Bobby Lashley’s Sisters Segment Lives Down To Expectations

A recent new feud that has started has been between Sami Zayn and the recently returned Bobby Lashley.  It started in a spontaneous way, but last night’s segment featuring both superstars was anything but spontaneous and it did nothing for either individual.

Lashley was interviewed a couple weeks ago and he talked about his family and life while talking quite a bit about his sisters.  Zayn decided to focus on that last night when he brought out Lashley’s “sisters” to tell the “truth” about their relationship with Lashley and how it isn’t like he said it was.

Zayn brought out three men dressed as women to pose as Lashley’s sisters and it was as bad or cringe-worthy as you might have imagined going in.  The live crowd couldn’t have cared less and nothing worked throughout this entire segment.  The only thing that even remotely saved it was when Lashley came out and ended up beating up everybody.

The WWE’s attempts at forced humor haven’t gone well in recent memory and unfortunately, this segment continued that trend.  A feud between Zayn and Lashley can work, but it can’t work if segments like this dominate their airtime.  It wasn’t as bad as Alexa Bliss’s This Is Your Life segment from last year, but it was bad in its own right.

Simply put, this segment lived down to its low expectations heading into it and hopefully is just a small detour in the middle of what could be a solid feud.
