2. Sonya Deville Defeats Naomi To Qualify

We haven’t seen much of Naomi on television lately, which is a shame, since she saved The Usos from the Bludgeon Brothers (the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions). Naomi is one of SmackDown Live’s top babyfaces, so she seems like the favorite to defeat Sonya Deville and qualify for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

However, I think we’re in for a bit of a surprise. Although Becky Lynch defeated Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in a Triple Threat qualifying match to avenge her previous loss to Rose, Deville is getting a second chance to qualify for a reason. On top of that, Deville is one of the most underrated women’s wrestlers on the main roster, having torn down the house with Ruby Riott in NXT and shined during the Women’s Elimination Chamber match in February.

Deville’s victory would ensure that Absolution is represented in the ladder match, furthering that storyline, which includes some friction with GM Paige. I wonder if Rose could help Deville tonight, protecting Naomi a little bit in the process and potentially kicking off a Naomi/Absolution program for the future.

While Deville isn’t a likely candidate to win the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, she is a legitimate sleeper, and she would be right at home in a brutal ladder match where her devastating kicks could add a nice dimension to the fight.
