Night 2 of the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors kicks off with a big main event with Hiromu Takahashi & Marty Scurll.

We also see a big match with Dragon Lee against SHO, who is making his singles debut since returning from excursion. We are also seeing the debut of Chris Sabin in singles matches in NJPW, which should be exciting.

Yota Tsuji vs. Shota Umino

Ren Narita was injured, so he was replaced in this match by Yota Tsuji. This featured one of the veteran young lions against one of the newer ones. Umino was given a chance to show just how far he’s developed, and Tsuji was given valuable one-on-one experience.

Result: Shota Umino

Rating: 2 stars out of 5

ACH (1-0), Tiger Mask (1-0), & Tomoyuki Oka vs. CHAOS (Will Ospreay (0-1), YOH (1-0), & YOSHI-HASHI)

ACH had tape on his shoulder, indicating that his arm is injured. One must wonder if that will come into play later. Just after I wrote that sentence, Ospreay went to work on the arm, which ACH began selling immediately. Good storytelling. Noticeably, Ospreay had no tape on his neck, which has been causing him issues since his match with Marty Scurll. ACH and Ospreay exchanged some quick offense before tagging out.

YOH worked over Oka for a few minutes before Tiger Mask was tagged in, and he took out everyone, including Ospreay. In the closing portions of the match Ospreay and ACH had another exchange to preview their match for night 3. Ospreay saved YOSHI-HASHI from a chin lock from Oka, which one person in the crowd yelled, “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” which I found hilarious. YOSHI-HASHI dropped Oka with a superkick and locked on the Butterfly Lock, and Oka tapped out.

Result: CHAOS

Rating: 2.5 stars out of 5

Ospreay said ACH can go to WWE after he’s done with him, followed by, “Am I allowed to say that?” Too late, bro.
