WWE 205 Live: Results, Grades and Analysis for May 22nd
By Liam Hoofe
After last week’s UK special, 205 Live shifted its focus back to its own roster on this week’s show.
Last week’s 205 Live was one of the brand’s best episodes of 2018. The introduction of several UK stars for one night only provided fans with some excellent encounters and many fans will be hoping that we get to see similar specials in the future.
This week, though, the brand switched its attention back to its own stars, and the episode continued to build on many of the brand’s ongoing storylines. Drew Gulak’s one-man mission to make 205 Live a no-fly zone continued as he squared off with Lucha House Party member, Gran Metalik. While former tag team partners, Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa squared off in the night’s main event.
The show also continued to build towards next week’s blockbuster match between Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander and former NXT star Buddy Murphy. The match, originally scheduled to take place at The Greatest Royal Rumble, has been nearly two whole months in the making, and we got to see the final build for it on this week’s episode.
Could this week’s 205 Live deliver the same quality as last week’s UK special? Let’s break down each of the night’s matches, and find out.
