Drew Gulak Vs Gran Metalik

Result: Drew Gulak wins with the Gu-Lock

Grade: C+

Drew Gulak has quickly become one of the most valuable members of the 205 Live roster, and his recent mini-feud with the Lucha party has provided us with plenty of entertaining matches. That was the case once again this week, as Gulak squared off with Gran Metalik.

With Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick watching from commentary, Gulak put on yet another solid performance. His hard-hitting and submission based ring-style really helps bring out the best of the other wrestler’s high flying offence. This was one of Metalik’s best solo outing so far on 205 Live.

Of course, Gulak picked up the win and continued to build his momentum. They also teased a potential partnership between Gulak and the team of Kendrick and Gallagher, which I’m totally down for.

A quick note to creative: please get rid of those rattlers that Kalisto and Dorado had at ringside this week. They achieved nothing and if anything, just highlighted the fact that the crowd don’t tend to get very invested in 205 Live.

TJP Vs Christopher Guy

Result: TJP Wins with a Detonation Kick

Grade: Squash

Time for 205 Live’s weekly squash match, and this week it was the TJP’s turn to hand out a quick beating.

TJP is one of the most underrated talents on 205 Live, and it would be nice to see him climb his way back up the division. His inconsistent booking never allows it though, and this time next week, he will likely be on the losing end of some tag match.

After the match, he cut a promo about climbing back up to the top. He also seems to be building an anti-authority character as he continues to take swipes at Drave Maverick. Could we see Maverick teased back into the ring in the coming months? Seems unlikely, but it would be great to see.

Cedric Alexander Interview

We see a pre-taped interview with Cedric Alexander about his match next week with Buddy Murphy. Alexander talks about how Murphy may be bigger than him, but he has had to make weight, and he may be weakened by it. We also find out that the match is in Alexander’s hometown, which as most WWE superstars will tell you, is not always a good thing.

Alexander comes across well in the promo, and he has certainly adopted his role as ambassador 205 Live very well. He puts over the whole division but reminds them that he is the champion.
