WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Match Card Predictions Version 2.0
Nia Jax (c) vs. Ronda Rousey For The Raw Women’s Championship
When it was announced that Nia Jax would defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, I was completely taken by surprise. Not only did I think that Ruby Riott would be challenging Jax at Money in the Bank, but I also thought that it was a bit too soon for Rousey to have a title match. It seemed like Rousey was involved in a program with Mickie James, who had been targeting her friend Natalya.
However, Rousey’s first televised singles match in WWE (she had a quick squash match against Dana Brooke after Raw went off the air) will be for the Raw Women’s Championship at a Big 5 Pay Per View.
Although it is possible to see Stephanie McMahon pulling some shenanigans to help Nia Jax retain, thus turning the Force of Greatness heel, I find it extremely difficult to pick against Rousey here. She is arguably WWE’s biggest name right now, and she was brilliant at WrestleMania 34 in the mixed tag match. A bizarre loss or inconclusive finish here would seem to be unwise. While some may have liked to see Rousey in a title match at a later date, WWE has chosen June 17, and they need to pull the trigger on her as a champion now that they’ve announced the match.
Prediction: Ronda Rousey
