AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura In A Last Man Standing Match For The WWE Championship

Shinsuke Nakamura, the 2018 Royal Rumble winner, has had three chances to take the WWE Championship off of AJ Styles. Unfortunately, Nakamura has failed all three times. After his only loss to Styles, which occurred at WrestleMania 34, Nakamura hit Styles with a low blow out of sheer frustration. Since then, he’s been obsessed with hitting Styles below the belt, to the point where the two hit each other with low blows at Backlash en route to a double count-out.

Because of the finish at Backlash, most fans expected Nakamura vs. Styles at Money in the Bank to be a Last Man Standing match. After Nakamura defeated Styles in the main event of SmackDown Live in what was their best match yet, he had a chance to pick the stipulation. He initially refused to tell the stipulation to Styles, joking that they’d have a “Pillow Fight”, but he announced that they’d have a Last Man Standing match. Nakamura did this after brawling with Styles, blasting him with a Kinsasha, and then counting to ten as Styles lay on the ground.

Since Nakamura is 0-for-3 against Styles in title matches, I just can’t see him losing yet another match to The Phenomenal One. This WWE Championship bout at Money in the Bank will likely have a conclusive result, and that result should be a big victory for Nakamura, who can become a first-time world champion and move on to an excellent feud with somebody else.

Regardless of the outcome, I have a feeling this match will be absolutely incredible. I hope they go balls-to-the-wall literally and figuratively in a Last Man Standing match that measures up to some of the incredible bouts with this stipulation that we’ve seen in the past.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura
