On tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling, Matt Sydal will defend the X Division Championship against El Hijo de Fantasma, LAX will renew its rivalry with Cult of Lee, and we’ll likely hear about another abhorrent backstage attack.

Impact Wrestling’s Matt Sydal has been an absolute standout in 2018 as the X Division Champion. After successfully defending his title at Redemption against Petey Williams and defeating Taiji Ishimori (now “Bone Soldier” in NJPW) weeks later on Impact television, Sydal must put that title on the line tonight against El Hijo de Fantasma. This should be an exciting affair, especially if last week’s tag team main event is any indication.

LAX has been in trouble ever since they lost the tag team titles to Eli Drake and Scott Steiner at Redemption, because they’ve also been without Konnan. It’s only a matter of time before we find out what happened to Konnan, and I wouldn’t be surprised if their opponents tonight, the Cult of Lee, have something to do with it.

Kongo Kong and Moose will clash tonight in a highly-anticipated match that will be an absolute brawl. Moose nearly had Kongo Kong beat a couple of weeks ago before Jimmy Jacobs interfered. Kong has already brutalized Johnny Impact, but can he do the same to Mr. Impact?

Impact’s Knockouts Division has been on absolute fire over the past couple of months, with Su Yung being an absolutely tremendous addition to the roster. Last week, she set Rosemary’s coffin ablaze during the funeral for the Demon Assassin. What will the Knockouts Champion, Allie, have to say about this? And will there be any build for the upcoming rivalry match between Tessa Blanchard and the returning Madison Rayne?

Over the past month, Impact personnel have been attacked viciously backstage by an anonymous culprit, who leaves their weird insignia lying on top of their victims following each attack. This long-term storyline won’t reach its conclusion for quite some time, but it will be interesting to see who falls next.

Amidst all this, Petey Williams and Desmond Xavier will try to steal the show when they clash in an X Division matchup. Although there are no stakes, if Xavier wins, he could stake his claim as Sydal’s next challenger for the crown.
