Impact Wrestling: Rejoice, Because Joe Hendry Will Be At June Tapings

Impact Wrestling has been on fire over the past month, as they’ve followed up their statement-making Redemption Pay Per View with several weeks of good programming. The news just keeps getting better, too, because the company has announced that Joe Hendry will be a part of their upcoming television tapings.

Since Redemption, Impact Wrestling has added Tessa Blanchard, Madison Rayne, and Katarina Waters to an already-impressive Knockouts Division that boasted champion Allie and “The Undead Bride” Su Yung as its top stars.

But Impact’s big-name additions haven’t just been restricted to its Knockouts Division, because they recently announced that Joe Hendry will be at the company’s upcoming tapings.

Impact tweeted that “The Prestigious One” will appear at the tapings on June 1 and 2 in Windsor, Ontario, and I can’t wait to see what Don Callis and Co. have planned for one of professional wrestling’s most underrated heels.

Impact will also have Rich Swann as a new addition at their upcoming tapings, but Hendry is a much more surprising (and welcome) possible signing for Impact. Hendry became a big name on the United Kingdom’s Independent Wrestling circuit, largely thanks to his work with WCPW/Defiant Wrestling and ICW.

A full-of-himself heel who can back it up in the ring, Hendry is one of wrestling’s more compelling promos, and Impact could give him a huge platform to shine on. The quality of Impact’s storylines have been absolutely fantastic lately, with the Rosemary/Allie/Su Yung story being the highlight of them all. We also don’t know who the mysterious backstage attacker is, and I wonder if Hendry could be teased as that villain, assuming the storyline did not end at the preceding tapings.

Next: Possible Fox/SmackDown Cross-Promotion

Regardless, I am incredibly excited to see that Hendry will be appearing on Impact television in the summer months, and I believe he could make a similar splash to what Tessa Blanchard has done in the Knockouts Division lately.
