2. Allie (Knockouts Champion)

I don’t foresee Allie or Brian Cage getting knocked out of the top two any time soon, though Pentagon Jr. and Matt Sydal are certainly stiff competition. This claims stems from the fact that Allie and Cage have been so brilliant as performers, with Allie being Impact’s top champion. The Knockouts Division really sets the standard for the entire company, so it’s only fitting that the face of the division (with Rosemary out injured) is one of the world’s best babyfaces.

Last week, Allie showed a darker side of her character in response to Rosemary’s funeral. Rosemary’s coffin was set ablaze by Su Yung’s haunting red mist, and it is now up to Allie to take matters into her own hands. She already successfully defended the Knockouts Championship against Yung at Redemption, but can she go 2-for-2 by defeating Yung at Under Pressure? I certainly hope so. It was also tremendous watching Allie fully embracing the darkness and following “The Shadow” by wearing Rosemary’s gear and face paint. I can’t praise this storyline enough, nor can I stress how great Allie has been, too.

1. Brian Cage

Even though Sydal, Aries, Pentagon Jr., and Allie are some of the best wrestlers in the world today, I find it fitting that a non-champion is in the No. 1 spot. I just can’t buy anybody beating Brian Cage right now, because the man has three finishers and is a beastly physical specimen who moves like a cruiserweight. And because of that, he gets frequent matches against smaller opponents and is able to keep up with them.

Now that Cage’s excellent world tour is over, he will square off against Desmond Xavier at Under Pressure next week. This is Xavier’s “reward” for defeating Petey Williams this week in what was essentially a No. 1 contender’s match for the opportunity to get their ass kicked by Cage. Xavier is a potential rising star, and Cage is a star. So this match should be awesome, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Xavier bagged his second straight show-stealing performance with Cage working across from him.
