WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Match Card Predictions Version 3.0

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

The less I say about the segment involving Bobby Lashley’s “three sisters”, the better. But WWE doubled down on this awful storyline by having Sami Zayn cut the worst fake apology I’ve seen in quite some time. Zayn’s delivery didn’t exactly help soften the blow of this poorly-written promo, and Lashley responded to Zayn’s promo by challenging him to a match at Money in the Bank. Zayn accepted.

I couldn’t care less about this match, and as sad as it is to say this, a match between Zayn and Lashley is indeed a bathroom-break match. The build to this “rivalry” has been embarrassing, and Lashley feels like just another guy. That’s a far cry from the absolute star he was in TNA/Impact, and it all comes down to atrocious booking. He’ll likely turn heel at some point in 2018, but heel or face dynamic aside, this storyline has done him no favors.

Regardless, Lashley is guaranteed to defeat Zayn, and at this point, the only outcome fans are hoping for is a monumental beatdown of Zayn. That’s just about the only thing that can partially redeem what has been one of the most “WTF” feuds of 2018 in all of professional wrestling. I hate to keep ragging on a rivalry, but the creative team absolutely deserves to be slammed for this program. Nobody got over, and the only people who got heat for the segments was the creative team. We are all dumber for having witnessed this rivalry, which will mercifully come to a quiet close at Money in the Bank.
