AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura For The WWE Championship In A Last Man Standing Match

AJ Styles has been the WWE Champion for over 200 days, and he’s restored credibility to the company’s top title (yes, that was another cheap shot at the Universal Championship and Mahal’s lackluster title defenses). But that reign has to come to an end soon, and it’s likely coming at Money in the Bank.

On the most recent episode of SmackDown Live, Styles stated that Nakamura wanted a “Last Man Standing” match, because it favors Nakamura as a striker. Some fans were critical of WWE’s creative team for allowing Nakamura to pick the stipulation if he wasn’t going to pick a stip that blatantly favored him, such as one that eliminates the champion’s advantage, so I guess this was WWE’s way of addressing that concern.

In any case, Nakamura is going all-out with this whole “Last Man Standing” match. After counting to ten when he hit Styles with a Kinsasha to announce the stipulation, he did the same thing to Tye Dillinger. Nakamura defeated him in a singles match in which Dillinger got up before the count of ten during the match before eventually losing to a “knee to face”, but after the match was over, Nakamura drilled Tye with a Kinsasha to the back of the head. He then counted to ten.

Nakamura has been so damn good as a heel, and he’ll be even better as a heel champion. Here’s to hoping this match is an instant classic that will make those “best of” clips that the WWE uploads on YouTube for years to come.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura wins the WWE Championship
