The May 29 edition of WWE SmackDown was a very good show that featured several important moments wrapped up with solid in-ring action and entertainment value.

Last night’s WWE SmackDown was important for the Money In The Bank pay-per-view and helped out many superstars along the way with several noteworthy moments from the show.

With Money In The Bank less than three weeks away, the blue brand is trending in the right direction and has had the advantage over the red brand as of late.  With that being said, let’s take a look at a few grades from the May 29 edition of WWE SmackDown.

5. Opening Segment

An unexpected feud that has broken out in recent weeks has been between Daniel Bryan and the recently returned Big Cass.  But while the feud hasn’t been the greatest up to this point, another major player was added to the picture recently.

Due to Big Cass’s “injury,” Samoa Joe was set to battle Bryan last night with the winner going on to the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.  However, that would all change during the opening segment of the night last night when Joe hit the ring with some Money In The Bank symbolism and harsh words towards Bryan.

Bryan’s family was mentioned, so he wouldn’t take that lying down.  He suggested their match take place immediately rather than later in the night, but then Big Cass came out on crutches.  He said GM Paige told him Bryan is out of the match and it will be Cass vs. Joe like it was originally supposed to be.  Then Cass ditched the crutches and began attacking both men.

He made a statement that he wanted back in on the opportunity he once had.  It was then announced by Paige that to solve the problem, there would be a Triple Threat Match between the three to determine who advances to the Money in the Bank ladder match.  In terms of just this opening segment, it was pretty good and quite chaotic from time to time.

The seven-footer played his cards perfectly and got back into the Money In The Bank picture in last night’s opening segment.
