WWE SmackDown Power Rankings: Asuka Has Her Path To The Title
4. The Miz
Although the likes of Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and even Rusev are legitimate candidates to grab the Money in the Bank briefcase next month, The Miz has to still be considered the favorite to nab the contract. He’s already won it before, having cashed in on Randy Orton with one of the most memorable finisher counters of the past ten years, and he’s only become wiser in these types of matches.
The Miz and The Bar didn’t have what it took to defeat The New Day this week, but The A-Lister probably isn’t too concerned with this defeat. His eyes are on June 17, because that’s when defeating seven men, including one member of The New Day, actually matters.
3. Samoa Joe
There’s no doubt that Samoa Joe likes to talk. His voice booms across the arena, his eyes pierce your soul, and his large vocabulary probably makes you swoon, too. But being able to back it up is important, and after losing to Roman Reigns at Backlash, Joe’s win in a Triple Threat match over Big Cass and Daniel Bryan affirmed that he is indeed able to back up every word he says. I mean, he made Bryan pass out, no less, and that’s huge, especially since Bryan threatened to re-injure Joe’s knee with a Heel Hook.
Joe is the type of guy who knows exactly what to do with the Money in the Bank briefcase, because he knows how to pick his spots. He’s read the works of Sun Tzu and Marcus Aurelius. I’m sure Joe is salivating at the chance to cash in on Shinsuke Nakamura or AJ Styles after their Last Man Standing match, if the WWE Championship match comes after the Money in the Bank ladder match this year.
