Aleister Black Addresses the Title Situation
After some video packages from last week’s show, we open with the return of NXT Champion, Aleister Black to NXT. Black hasn’t been seen in Full Sail for a good few weeks now, and it’s nice to see the champion back on-screen.
Black talks about his championship and how he only needs one shot to make his opponents fade to black. This prompts the arrival of Lars Sullivan.
Sullivan mocks Black for repeating himself throughout his career, and he tells Black that he has never come up against anybody like him before. He says that he is here to announce that he will be facing Black for the title at NXT Takeover: Chicago. He tells Black that he is going to defeat him at the event and that Black won’t be able to do a thing about it.
The two men brawl and Black goes to hit the Black Mass, only for Sullivan to stop it and hit him with the Freak Accident. The segment ends with Sullivan standing tall over Black with the belt in his hand.
This was a brief, but enjoyable opening segment. Initially, I wasn’t sure about Sullivan being the number one contender, but he has impressed me over the last few weeks, and the two men should have a solid match in Chicago.
