2. Ruby Riott
Ruby Riott was a lot of people’s pick, mine included, to win the Women’s Money in the Bank match before the match was even officially declared for the PPV. This is because the briefcase just seems tailor made for Ruby’s character right now.
Ruby, along with her Riott Squad, is incredibly talented. After she was unable to dethrone The Queen on SmackDown Live, she was given a fresh start on Raw thanks to the Superstar Shakeup. Despite limited time in the ring since her call up, she has been able to shine and stand out with every match.
It just seemed like a matter of time until Ruby ascended to the top of the Women’s Division to claim the championship, and it seemed like Money in the Bank was a perfect avenue for her to do so.
Ever since The Riott Squad’s debut on the main roster, they have been all about using the numbers game to their advantage. Well, with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan by her side, Ruby could strike fear into any champion if she had the briefcase.
The constant paranoia of not one but three potential threats before, during, and after every Women’s Championship defense would create a lot of suspense and intrigue around the title and around Ruby Riott.
There’s no doubt that Riott will be successful with or without the briefcase, so maybe the fact that she isn’t in the match is a show of trust by the creative team that she can reach the top without it and that there could potentially be something in store for her in the near future.
Still, it is a tough pill to swallow when Lana makes it into the Money in the Bank ladder match over Ruby. Yes, I get that they are on different brands, but still!
