WWE 205 Live Power Rankings: The Age of Alexander Continues
By Liam Hoofe
4: Mustafa Ali (April: #2)
Mustafa Ali’s rise to the top of 205 Live has been one of the brand’s best storylines in 2018 and he continued his fine run of form once again in May.
Ali kicked the month off with a bang, putting on an excellent performance in a losing effort to Buddy Murphy on May 8th, and he followed that up in a really fun tag encounter on May 15th, teaming with Cedric Alexander and Flash Morgan Webster to defeat Drew Gulak, Joseph Conners and James Drake, in a match won by the faces.
With Buddy Murphy now out of the way, Ali is likely to try and position himself as the next number 1 contender to Alexander’s title in the coming months, and I wouldn’t bet against him finally winning the belt at SummerSlam this year.
3: Drew Gulak (April: #3)
Drew Gulak’s stock has continued to rise on 205 Live this month. Gulak is one of the most charismatic performers on the brand, and while he may have only picked up one victory in May, a win against Gran Metalik on the May 22nd edition of the show, he has been involved on the show constantly and has often been a highlight.
His performance on the May 15th episode of the show, where he teamed up with British talents, Joseph Conners and James Drake, showed that he would make an excellent leader of a heel stable, and the WWE seemed to have noticed this as well, with Gulak aligning himself with Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher at the end of the month.
