2: Buddy Murphy (April: #5)

Buddy Murphy had a bit of a rough ride in April when he lost his title shot at The Greatest Royal Rumble, but the former NXT star has bounced back in style in June, taking part in the brand’s best two matches of the month.

Murphy wrestled Mustafa Ali in the main event of the May 8th edition of the show in what was an excellent encounter, and he then went on to top that, in a losing effort to Cruiserweight champion, Cedric Alexander, at the end of the month.

A lot of fans had their doubts when Murphy first arrived on 205 Live, but he has gone to prove himself as one of the best performers on the whole brand.

1: Cedric Alexander (April: #1)

After the disastrous run of Enzo Amore at the end of last year, Cedric Alexander has returned a sense of prestige to the Cruiserweight title on 205 Live, and while the champion took part in one match during May, it was easily the best bout of the month.

Alexander defended his belt against Buddy Murphy on the May 29th episode of the show and the match was arguably the best 205 Live match we have seen so far in 2018.

The bout was expertly paced and both men played their parts well. Alexander picked up the clean victory, which likely draws a line under their feud but this match is still a must-see and it cements Alexander’s place at the top of these rankings for the second month running.
