2. Charlotte Flair Defeats Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have plenty of history between them, too, and the last time they faced off on television, Lynch tapped out Flair to the Dis-Arm-Her on SmackDown Live. Not many wrestlers can say that they’ve tapped out Charlotte, but Becky is one of the few who can lay claim to that honor.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Lynch gets the better of Charlotte tonight, despite the fact that it might make more sense for Becky to win, given the promos they cut last week. Charlotte was well-spoken and talked about how much the Money in the Bank briefcase would mean to her, but Becky’s promo was even more passionate and really struck a cord.

And it makes sense for the briefcase to mean THAT much more to Becky, because it’s been ages since she’s received a title opportunity. It isn’t for a lack of trying either. With the briefcase, Lynch would finally be able to take matters into her own hands instead of simply waiting for the GM to grant her an opportunity.

Between Charlotte and Becky, it is the latter competitor who is more likely to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, since it fits the direction of her character a lot more. As such, I’d expect Charlotte, who is usually portrayed as the best woman on the roster, to pick up the win here. Lynch already defeated her in July, so this could be a way for Charlotte to get her “win” back and build up some red-herring momentum before Money in the Bank.
