WWE NXT: Results, Grades and Analysis for June 6th
By Liam Hoofe
With just over a week to go until NXT Takeover: Chicago, things are hotting up on this week’s NXT.
NXT Takeover: Chicago is shaping up to be one of the best events of the year, and the brand continued with their excellent build towards the event on this week’s show.
Tommaso Ciampa made his return to NXT this week to address his upcoming match with Johnny Gargano in the main event slot, and needless to say, it didn’t take long for things to get out of hand.
Elsewhere on this week’s show, Shayna Baszler called out Nikki Cross for her actions last week. The former Sanity member ‘defeated’ Baszler in an unofficial bout to close last week’s show, and the two women are now on a collision course for Takeover: Chicago.
Speaking of the women’s division, Kairi Sane and Lacey Evans also settled the score on this week’s show. The two up and coming stars have exchanged victories over the past month, and last night’s match would decide who would come out on top of the feud going forward.
There’s a lot of unfinished business in the tag team division as well, with Roderick Strong and Danny Burch squaring off one-on-one just over a week before their two teams meet in Chicago with the tag team titles on the line.
NXT has been on fine form lately, and their build to Takeover: Chicago has been considerably better than the main roster’s build to Money in the Bank. Let’s take a look at this week’s episode of NXT, and find out what went down.
