What were the best segments one WWE TV this week?
With the go-home shows of Raw and SmackDown for this Sunday’s Money in the Bank behind us, we will be looking forward to one of the bigger PPV events in the WWE calendar. This Sunday we will get an idea of the direction WWE is going in with the main men’s and women’s championships by seeing who will win the two Money in the Bank ladder match.
For now though, we take a look at the best WWE had to offer on this go-home week of WWE TV.
Hawkins for the win? No Way
This started with Hawkins being interviewed backstage. He was interrupted by the never ending conga line of No Way Jose heading to the ring for their match. No Way Jose made it down to the ring waiting for Curt Hawkins. Hawkins music hit twice, but did not come down to the ring. The referee decided that he’d give Hawkins a 10 count to make it to the ring. Hawkins ended up sneaking up from behind on Jose, as he was disguised as someone in Jose’s conga line.
Hawkins went for a quick roll up, but Jose kicked out, and managed to get the win quickly. I liked this a lot, personally. I had been asking for awhile for Hawkins to keep this gimmick going and trying everything he possibly can do to get a win. This was a good step in that direction, and I hope it continues.
One gripe I have with WWE sometimes is that it seems like most guys when they’re lacking creative direction and they don’t have any big plans for them, they get lost in the shuffle. Doing stuff like this can avoid that, and if the wrestler isn’t winning, it gives them a sense of direction and a reason to care about them.
