The Pre Show

As of now the only match announced for the pre show is the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match; Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson taking on the defending champions Harper and Rowan, The Bludgeon Brothers.  I’m assuming there will be another match added to the pre-show with how many matches there are, possibly even two. For my booking of this show, I will be adding Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn to the pre show. One of the less interesting matches on the card, won’t really lose much by not having it on the main card.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. The Bludgeon Brothers (c) SmackDown Tag Team Title Match

I don’t feel like there’s a whole to say about this match. There hasn’t really been any build to it. The last two weeks we saw Karl Anderson get a fluke roll up win in a singles match against Luke Harper, and I don’t believe either team was featured in the go home SmackDown episode. The only way this can go is with a Bludgeon Brothers retention. I believe these two teams are very capable of having a good match with each other, but this probably isn’t the spot that will happen as there isn’t a lot of momentum behind this program.

This is mostly just filler for the Bludgeon Brothers before their next program, with maybe the debuting Sanity. Since Harper and Rowan won the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania this year, my interest in them has really cooled off, so hopefully they can have a hot program coming after this PPV to regain interest in them as Tag Team Champions.

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

Again, not really much to say about this match either. I wouldn’t mind booking this to be a Bobby Lashley’s sisters on a pole match, but we’ll try to be reasonable here. The build up to this match has been dreadful and very damaging to the character of Bobby Lashley. With what was a chance to really get Lashley some character development in what had been a slow start for him since returning to the WWE, we instead took five steps backwards with him and now are in repair mode.

All that being said, I would have Sami Zayn win this match. Doesn’t have to be clean necessarily, but I would absolutely have Zayn win this match. Think about, if Lashley wins, who does it help? It doesn’t help him with all of the damage that has been done to him already in this program. By having him lose this match, you have a chance to hit the reset button on Lashley. Show a different side to his character after being cheated out of a victory by Sami Zayn.

After this match, we can see a pissed off Bobby Lashley, who’s had his morals  and integrity questioned by Zayn, and then also cheated out of a win from Zayn. This can build to a rematch where Lashley can beat the hell out of him and win and hopefully get people to care more about Lashley.
