Asuka vs. Carmella (c) SmackDown Women’s Championship Match

At WrestleMania, Asuka’s undefeated streak came to an end when she challenged the then Women’s Champion Charlotte for the title. Shortly after this, Carmella would cash in her Money in the Bank contract to beat Charlotte for the Title. One terrible PPV match later, and here we are with Carmella still champion. For the record, I do very much enjoy Carmella’s act, and I do think she has a role in this Women’s division. However, I don’t think that role is as Women’s Champion.

Carmella’s matches just don’t do it for me, personally. As a character and a promo she’s very good, but I’ve yet to be really drawn by her work in the ring. However, if there’s anyone that can pull that out of her, I think Asuka has the best chance of doing so. Maybe we’ll see a different side of Carmella with this being her first match against Asuka.

I have Asuka win this one, I think it’s time for her to have a good run with the title on the main roster. I originally would have liked to see Asuka’s run with the title happening with her undefeated streak still in tact, but nonetheless, it’s time.
