Kelly Klein vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Purrazzo came out wearing street clothes and went right after Klein. Purrazzo started the match working over Klein’s arm, perhaps setting her up for her Fujiwara Armbar. Deonna went for the armbar early, but Klein escaped. Klein turned it around after tripping Purrazzo while she was on the apron, and hitting a fall away slam on the outside of the ring.

Klein continued to favour the arm, but Purrazzo wasn’t able to lock in the armbar for any period of time before Klein escaped. Klein set Deonna on the top rope and went for a fall away slam from the middle ropes. Kelly only got a 2 count. The ref was bumped after this, and Purrazzo had a pinfall, but the count didn’t happen. As the referee recovered, Klein locked on the Guillotine Choke and tapped her out.

It looks like they’re setting up a match between Klein and Sumie Sakai for the ROH Women’s title.

Jay Lethal’s announcement from last week aired, and it featured him telling the world that he will be facing KUSHIDA at Best in the World on June 29th!

Dalton Castle cut a promo about Cody and Marty Scurll and how he is going to retain his title. Castle reminds me of the top wrestlers from the 80s with his charisma.

Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) (CHAOS) vs. The Briscoe Brothers (c) – ROH World Tag Team Championship

The Briscoes got the heat on RPG3K early, but not for long, as they are not the same young boys they were when they were on excursion. The Briscoes use the veteran experience to cut them off though, and Jay Briscoe keeps control over YOH. Lots of classic tag team wrestling here as The Briscoes use every dirty trick in the book.

YOH made the hot tag to SHO after a neck breaker, and he ran wild. YOH superkicked SHO into a German Suplex, but they couldn’t get a pinfall. Mark killed SHO with clothesline, while YOH was dragged outside by Jay. The Briscoes hit a double team powerbomb/neckbreaker, but YOH saved SHO from being pinned.

SHO got hit with a superplex from Jay, and a Froggybow from Mark, but he kicked out to the roar from the crowd. YOH made the tag and RPG 3K started picking up the pace. Mark tried to fight back but ate double knees. SHO and YOH hit stereo tope con giro’s and the crowd went nuts.

Mark Briscoe kicked out of the 3K! Jay Briscoe threw a chair in the ring to distract the ref, and Mark low blowed SHO. Jay tagged in and hit YOH with the Jay Driller for the pinfall.

Result: Jay Briscoe

This was a really great tag match that picked up even more with the closing sequence. Absolutely great TV main event. So, it’s confirmed! The Young Bucks will face The Briscoes at Best in the World for the Tag Team Titles.

A very solid TV show, with a good main event. While the show had no killer angles or promos, this was a very solid build towards Best in the World.
