Moustache Mountain Wins WWE NXT Tag Team Titles in London
By Jack Clayton
Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, who are together known as Moustache Mountain, have successfully defeated the Undisputed Era to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
The match took place during the NXT U.K. Championship taping at London’s Royal Albert Hall. This is the first reign for the team as Tag Team Champions while in WWE.
While this was Seven’s first title win in WWE, this marks Bate’s second title win. His first came when he was the inaugural winner of the WWE U.K Championship last year.
This also means that all three members of the team British Strong Style now hold gold in WWE. Bate and Seven now hold the Tag Team Championships, while Pete Dunne has now held the U.K Championship for 394 days.
This victory for Moustache Mountain comes just days after Undisputed Era successfully defended their Tag Team Championships against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch at NXT Takeover: Chicago II. What’s also interesting about it is after the match was over, Lorcan and Burch received a standing ovation from the crowd, hinting that the feud may not be over. But ultimately that may not be the case.
While Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong do not have their titles anymore, Undisputed Era is not without championship gold, as leader Adam Cole still holds the NXT North American Championship he won at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.
As of right now, it is unclear what the future holds for either Undisputed Era or Moustache Mountain. It is possible they could take this feud throughout the rest of the summer leading to SummerSlam weekend for a final match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. But that is all left up to speculation still.
