Finally, after weeks of brawls and attacks, Hangman Adam Page will challenge the newly crowned ROH World Television Champion, Punishment Martinez.

After a series of great, increasingly violent angles that saw Martinez and Hangman costing each other matches, Ring of Honor has announced the match for the Best in the World PPV.

The pay-per-view already features several strong matches. The main event will see ROH World Champion, Dalton Castle, take on Cody Rhodes and Marty Scurll. The Young Bucks challenge ROH World Tag Team Champions, The Briscoes, renewing their rivalry. Now, we know who will be challenging for the last title in Ring of Honor.

Hangman Page has had quite the 2018, seeing his stock rise dramatically through his dates with NJPW and his role on Being the Elite. Ring of Honor has treated him as an upcoming star for a long time now, and it finally seems like he’s moving towards the main event. Page, who was just announced for NJPW’s G1 Climax tournament.

Needless to say, taking the title from Punishment Martinez will prove to be a huge momentum boost as he heads into the tournament to complete against the likes of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada.

Martinez, however, is no slouch. He has seen himself elevate his stock with feuds with Marty Scurll and others in the early portion of the year. He dethroned Silas Young recently in a Six-Man Mayhem match, and will look to do whatever it takes to keep his hard earned gold. Martinez has been in the title picture for quite some time now, and he has finally arrived at his goal. I’m sure Martinez doesn’t want to stop there, but he will need to use all of his skill in defending against Hangman Page.
