WWE: No Better Time Than Now For Women’s Tag Team Titles

The WWE Women’s Division continues to get a bigger and bigger spotlight, and it could grow even more with the addition of Women’s Tag Team Championships.

The Women’s Revolution has grown into the Women’s Evolution and it won’t stop there. From having women wrestlers as the companies top performers, to main eventing on TV and on PPV, to no DQ matches, to Hell in a Cell matches, to a Women’s Royal Rumble, to a Women’s Elimination Chamber, to incredible Money in the Bank matches, it seems like the women just won’t quit stepping up their game.

And now, one of WWE’s biggest stars and draws, Ronda Rousey, who is driving crazy amounts of merchandise sales and eyes to the product, is a part of the Women’s Division, as well. So, women are now at the core of each wrestling show on the USA network, but that isn’t enough for fans.

Fans have been craving a Women’s Tag Team Division and Championships, and it seems like WWE might be able to deliver on that soon. At least, with all of the hints WWE has been dropping lately, it seems like it is inevitable and will be coming sooner rather than later.

First, there was an article posted by WWE saying that a Women’s Tag Team Division is something that we want to see in 2018. That may have been posted a while ago, but it shows that the idea was definitely floating around in WWE.

Then, more recently, Becky Lynch stated in an interview that she actually pitched the idea of Women’s Tag Team Titles to creative. Obviously, Lynch wouldn’t throw the company she works for under the bus by saying “hey, I pitched this great idea, but they wouldn’t budge”, so these titles better be in the works. Otherwise, it’d be a bad look for her and the company.

Now, let’s take a look at SmackDown Live where Naomi and Lana decided to put their dancing drama behind them and work as a team. Now, would they decide to work as a team if there’s only a Women’s Championship for singles competitors? Maybe, just maybe, it is because the Women’s Tag Team Championships are coming!

And, if these titles are coming to Raw, SmackDown Live, or even NXT, the women and fans are more than prepared for it. I mean, just think of all the potential tag teams there could be on the main roster.

On SmackDown, we could have Naomi and Lana, The IIconics, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, Tea Time (Becky and Charlotte), and we could even throw Carmella and James Ellsworth into the mix! Then, on Raw, there’s the Riott Squad, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, and there could have been Bayley and Sasha if Bayley didn’t snap on The Boss last week.

This would also be a HUGE spot for the Bella Twins to return once they make their comeback to the ring. I could easily see Nikki and Brie facing off against Becky and Charlotte in the main event of a PPV for the titles.

There are so many avenues that are opened up creatively with the Women’s Division if Women’s Tag Team Championships are introduced. WWE has been teasing the idea for awhile now, but there is no better time than now for them to finally pull the trigger.
