WWE NXT Power Rankings: Can Tommaso Ciampa hold on to top spot?
By Liam Hoofe
As it reaches the half-way point of the year, NXT delivered yet another outstanding show in June and also set itself up well for the second half of 2018.
This month’s NXT programming focused on the build to NXT Takeover: Chicago, which took place on June 16th. The event was yet another home-run from the company, making it three for three in terms of Takeovers so far in 2018.
The show was once again headlined by Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, who have been having what many consider to be the best program of 2018. Elsewhere on the card, Aleister Black defended his NXT title for the first time against Lars Sullivan, while The Undisputed Era and Shayna Baszler also defended their respective belts.
The NXT roster is perhaps stronger than it has ever been at the moment, and the show continues to deliver excellent television, week in, week out. With the brand now building towards their biggest show of the Summer, NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, let’s take a look at what superstars have impressed the most throughout the month of June.

10: Kairi Sane (May: N/A)
Kairi Sane has to be one of the most active performers on the NXT roster. It seems like barely a week goes by where she isn’t involved in some capacity.
In June, she brought an end to her mini-feud with Lacey Evans, picking up the victory in their rubber match, and it now looks as though she is being primed to take on Shayna Baszler at the next Takeover event.
Sane is one of the most popular female performers on the NXT roster, and it seems like it is only a matter of time before she gets her hands on the title.

9: Shayna Baszler (May: #7)
Shayna Baszler continues to dominate the women’s division on NXT this month. Her feud with Nikki Cross, which started back at the end of May and finished at Takeover: Chicago was one of the most unique and entertaining feuds I’ve seen in the women’s division.
Baszler played her role as the brand’s big bad bully to perfection and Cross helped to get the best out of her with her demented psychological warfare.
Baszler and Cross had a solid match in Chicago and Baszler’s victory further cemented her place as the women to beat on the yellow brand.
