Tessa Blanchard Inks A Long-Term Deal With Impact Wrestling

It is “undeniable” that Tessa Blanchard has made her presence felt in Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Division, and she’s poised to continue to own the division for months to come.

Madison Rayne is the Knockout currently on a big winning streak in Impact Wrestling, and Su Yung leads the division as the Knockouts Champion. But if you want to talk about the wrestler who is the biggest rising star in the division, chances are that you’ll focus the discussion on Tessa Blanchard, who has quite an impressive list of nicknames.

Blanchard first appeared on Impact at the Redemption Pay Per View, spoiling a match between Taya Valkyrie and Keira Hogan with her commentary. As usual, Blanchard put herself over in a big way, immediately endearing herself to head booker and “heel” announcer Don Callis.

At the time, Blanchard’s deal wasn’t announced, but now Impact Wrestling has revealed that the third-generation wrestler has inked a long-term deal with the company.

She is one of those self-confident, hyper-athletic wrestlers who can become one of the biggest stars in the company as 2018 continues. Rosemary will always be the face of Impact’s women’s division, and Allie has also become a huge deal. But Blanchard could be one of Impact’s top heels soon and make herself a household name. Blanchard is one of the most ambitious wrestlers in the business, so this is a great place for her to build her legacy. She has aspirations of becoming a big star in WWE, but Impact is more than just a stepping stone for her.

It will be interesting to see if this new deal leads to changes in Blanchard’s booking at Slammiversary and beyond. Impact has clearly portrayed her as an important part of their brand, and they’ve positioned her as a future champion. That reign should come at some point, because there are several opponents in the company who would qualify as “dream” opponents for her.
