Sasha Banks and Bayley have woven one of the best stories on WWE Raw over the past month, making great usage of social media to create a hashtag wars and polarize the WWE Universe in a fun, non-serious way. But it doesn’t look like they’ll rewrite the first chapter of their post-NXT story at Extreme Rules.
Currently, there are only two women’s matches scheduled for the WWE Extreme Rules 2018 match card. Alexa Bliss will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Nia Jax for their third head-to-head battle in as many Pay Per Views, while Asuka will get another crack at Carmella’s SmackDown Women’s Championship. The Extreme Rules card is loaded with matches, so it would be a shame if at least one non-title women’s match were not added.
According to Cageside Seats’s Rumor Roundup, a match between Sasha Banks and Bayley is not expected to be added to the Extreme Rules match card. They might not also appear on the show in any capacity, but, well, that would be a huge shame, since this might be WWE’s most interesting feud right now (minus the stupid comedy angle that likely led to them having a “break” on the last episode of Raw).
I honestly don’t want to say Banks vs. Bayley at Extreme Rules, because I think their story needs to be told in Brooklyn at SummerSlam. They have so much history in that building, and SummerSlam is a much better venue for a feud of this magnitude than Extreme Rules. This might only be a one-match rivalry renewed, so I’d rather see that occur at SummerSlam.

However, Banks and Bayley are two of the biggest stars in the women’s division, with Banks arguably being one of the top five most respected wrestlers in the company overall. Given how much merch she pushes and how good she is in the ring, it would be a shame if she weren’t on a big show at Extreme Rules. But the card is getting full, and a New Day vs. Sanity Tables match has already been announced for the pre-show.
