WWE Rumors: Ronda Rousey No Longer Scheduled For Raw After Extreme Rules?

facebooktwitterreddit

Ronda Rousey was suspended for 30 days by WWE Raw General Manager Kurt Angle for her outburst a few weeks ago, in which she attacked Alexa Bliss, officials, and Angle. She was initially advertised for the episode of Raw after Extreme Rules, but that no longer appears to be the case.

At WWE’s Money in the Bank Pay Per View, Ronda Rousey received the first title opportunity of her career when Nia Jax called her out at the red carpet. Rousey accepted after being goaded on by Charlotte Flair, and she proceeded to have another career-defining performance at MITB. Both she and Jax were tearing the house down, until Alexa Bliss came in and cashed in her contract, which she won earlier that night, on Nia.

Bliss and Jax will fight it out for the third time in as many PPVs this Sunday at Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh. However, WrestlingNews.Co’s Robert Schillaci reports that Rousey is scheduled to be at Extreme Rules as a “fan” despite not having a match due to a 30-day suspension handed down to her by Raw GM Kurt Angle last month.

Furthermore, WrestlingNews.Co reports that while Rousey was initially scheduled for the episode of Monday Night Raw immediately following Extreme Rules, she is no longer be advertised for the show in local ads. The episode of Raw on July 16 will occur in Buffalo, New York. She is also not advertised on the KeyBank Center website, as noted by Schillaci, but Bliss and Jax are.

Rousey is expected to face Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, meaning that Bliss is expected to beat Jax for the first time on PPV this year. This is all just fan speculation, but it makes sense since Rousey attacked Bliss viciously last month, which is part of why she was suspended (she also attacked officials and Angle). Plus, Bliss is the perfect heel for Rousey to beat up and get a huge reaction, and we all know that Bliss can use her double-jointedness to sell Rousey’s armbar finisher.

It will be interesting to see when Rousey shows up next, and I wonder if she was removed from ads to help “sell” the suspension more. She was suspended on June 18 for 30 days, which means that the episode of Raw right after Extreme Rules would fall under the suspension timeline. Rousey can return the following week on July 23 in Cincinnati to start her huge build towards a SummerSlam program.
