Report: Former Impact Wrestling Star Braxton Sutter Guest Trains at WWE Performance Center

Former Impact Wrestling star Braxton Sutter announced that he had taken up a guest training position last week at the WWE Performance Center. This announcement calls into question whether or not Sutter will soon be appearing more permanently with WWE.

On July 16th, it was reported via ProWrestlingSheet.com that Sutter had reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando as a guest trainer.

Sutter announced his departure from Impact on April 26th.

While details of Sutter’s appearance at the performance center were not released, such as how his appearance came to be or whether the appearance was part of a longer-term deal with the Performance Center, Sutter did release the following statement on his Twitter account:

Sutter has had a lengthy wrestling career and has made appearances with Ring of Honor, Combat Zone Wrestling, as well as Impact Wrestling.

I would consider it likely that Sutter’s appearance at the Performance Center as a trainer and not as performer hints at the fact that Sutter may be on the road to retirement from in-ring competition, but since his departure from Impact he has not confirmed that, so that’s purely speculation.

Sutter received tons of congratulations and positive feedback from Impact and WWE performers alike, including Impact Wrestling’s Konnan and current 205 Live on-screen GM Drake Maverick. Performance Center coach Johnny Moss also sent his kind remarks to Sutter with the following tweet:

Assuming Moss’s tweet may hint that the Performance Center hasn’t seen the last of Sutter, Sutter would surely make a great addition to the performance center team, joining the ranks of trainers and other former performers like Matt Bloom and Sarah Amato.

If this appearance does in fact serve as a clue that Sutter could be signing with WWE as a performer, he could just as easily serve as a great addition to the active roster, albeit only if WWE is careful not to book him too big too fast. Perhaps a good place to watch for this news would be the front of the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV.
