WWE: Zelina Vega Calls Out AJ Styles So Get Ready For A Dream Match
Zelina Vega has to be one of the best managers in professional wrestling, because she is the one responsible for Andrade “Cien” Almas’s resurgence in WWE NXT and subsequent rise to SmackDown Live. She’s decided to send a message to AJ Styles: Andrade Almas is coming.
Although we didn’t get to see much of Andrade “Cien” Almas on WWE SmackDown Live for months, the wait could be well-worth it.
Almas finally faced Sin Cara, whom he snubbed backstage and later attacked brutally, on the episode of SmackDown before Extreme Rules, picking up yet another W to add to his resume. At Extreme Rules on the kick-off show, Almas did the same thing to Sin Cara, and many fans wondered when he’d get a bigger match on the card.
It appears that could be sooner rather than later, because his business associate, the shrewd and dastardly Zelina Vega, took matters into her own hands today. Before SmackDown Live began, Vega called out Styles backstage, shook his hand, and notified him that Almas has interest in the WWE Championship.
In ever sense of the term, Styles vs. Almas qualifies as a “dream match”, and they have been two of the top five wrestlers in WWE this year. Styles has carried the WWE Championship with class and dignity, putting on solid matches at the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 34, Money in the Bank, and Extreme Rules. He’s faced the likes of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Rusev, and Shinsuke Nakamaura, delivering in and out of the ring.
However, Almas has been even better, and Vega is 100% correct in her assertion that Almas is more than just “Phenomenal”. He is indeed the future. Almas’s matches against Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia and Aleister Black at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans stand as two of WWE’s finest matches this year. El Idolo was also a standout in the Royal Rumble match despite still being NXT Champion.
SmackDown Live GM Paige has announced that this match will kick off tonight’s show, but I have a feeling Samoa Joe may interject himself in the proceedings to prevent a legitimate result. We shall see…

As for Styles, he’ll have to watch his back, because the challengers are coming thick and fast. Not only have Vega and Almas pled their case, but Samoa Joe is always lurking. And if Randy Orton did indeed turn heel at Extreme Rules, Styles must worry about facing a “Viper” he’s never beaten.
