Last night was the final episode of Impact Wrestling before Sunday’s Slammiversary XVI. All hands have all been played, and we have a clearer than ever picture of what’s to come for Sunday’s big event.

The final episode before a pay-per-view event for any promotion, especially the biggest one of the year, is usually indicative of what’s to come on the big night. If that reigns true for Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XVI, then we can count on Eddie Edwards to be swinging a Kendo stick around liberally, Su Yung and her undead bridesmaids to give you goosebumps, and the physically mismatched Austin Aries vs. Moose match for the Impact Championship to be a true back-and-forth.

However, as all wrestling fans know, sometimes things don’t turn out exactly as you expect them to, and other times, things come way out of left field and leave us gaping at our television screens, asking ourselves, “did that really just happen?”

With that in mind, let’s consider some possibilities for how Impact could up the ante for Slammiversary and give us something we really aren’t expecting. Here are five big, bold twists we can potentially look forward to seeing on Sunday night that would leave us shocked, excited, and chanting “this is awe-some” whether you’re at the Rebel Entertainment Complex or in the privacy of your own home.
