3. Intercontinental Championship Picture Getting More Crowded For Dolph Ziggler

The Intercontinental Championship has been on a roll lately with memorable match after memorable match.  The Miz, Seth Rollins, and now Dolph Ziggler have all helped lead the title back to prominence and it has developed into arguably the most important title on Monday nights.

That was evident at Extreme Rules when the Iron Man match between Ziggler and Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship main evented the show.  Ziggler retained his title thanks to Drew McIntyre, however, but his problems with Rollins are nowhere near over with and he might have even found another potential challenger last night.

Finn Balor took on McIntyre last night, but after the match ended with Ziggler getting involved and Rollins coming out to help Balor, it quickly developed into a tag team match.  This match would be quite the memorable one with a lot of impressive action thrown in before Rollins and Balor got the win via a stomp by Rollins on the Intercontinental Champion.

That pin for Rollins was all GM Kurt Angle needed to see and later in the night in the midst of an interview backstage, Rollins announced he would get a shot at Ziggler and the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.  Not only is Rollins in the title picture, but Balor could even join the fold soon enough after the circumstances from last night.  It’s something to keep in mind moving forward if nothing else.

No matter if it’s just Rollins or if it’s Rollins and Balor, The Showoff’s plate is getting much fuller these days.
