WWE SmackDown Power Rankings: Tick, Tock, AJ Styles
Becky Lynch is headed for SummerSlam, Randy Orton hates us all, and Samoa Joe dropped a Kesha reference. So yeah, it was another good week on WWE SmackDown. Oh, and The Miz threw a fake baby at someone after hyping up his new reality TV show. God, I love WWE!
Paige informed the fans that she would announce AJ Styles’s challenger for the WWE Championship on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live. Before she got a chance to announce Styles’s opponent, a certain cretin, James Ellsworth, decided to interject himself into the proceedings, eventually getting himself canned for insulting the GOAT GM.
Styles’s opponent? Well, he signed the damn contract himself after ambushing The Phenomenal One. And who else would do that but Samoa Joe?
10. Asuka
For as awful as Asuka’s loss to Carmella at Extreme Rules was, the Empress of Tomorrow is far from ruined. She picked up an easy W over Billie Kay, who really stood no chance against one of WWE’s most vicious strikers. Kay actually lost with a kick instead of a submission move, as she did everything in her power to avoid being locked in a submission by Asuka.
9. Rusev
The drama surrounding Rusev Day has the potential to be one of WWE’s most entertaining storylines, if it isn’t up there already. Aiden English desperately trying to help Rusev and prove his almost brotherly love for The Bulgarian George Clooney is enough to make a grown man cry. I hope Rusev Day doesn’t break up, and I also hope we get to see Andrade “Cien” Almas and Rusev continue to feud. Because that feud is more about Lana vs. Zelina Vega, and we ALL know it.
