4. Deonna Purrazzo
As one of the newest NXT signees, Purrazzo is a relatively new face for WWE’s audience. While she’s appeared on sporadic NXT episodes and jobbed for Alexa Bliss on Smackdown, she’s yet to show off her true potential. The upcoming Mae Young Classic II has the chance to change that, with Purrazzo taking center stage as one of the 32 competitors.
Both women are known for their submission wrestling styles, with Purrazzo laying claim to the Fujiwara Armbar finisher, and Banks innovating the Crossface. Stephanie McMahon stated recently that Evolution would be a celebration of all women in WWE, across the main roster, past legends and NXT. This match would be the perfect showcase for both women, highlighting the future of WWE’s women’s roster.

3. Bianca Belair
When considering the future of WWE’s women, no conversation can be complete without Bianca Belair. As a participant in 2017’s Mae Young Classic, Belair was given the chance to show off her insane high-flying abilities. She even managed to make an impression at WrestleMania 34, pulling off a beautiful 450-splash in the Women’s Battle Royal melee.
Belair has a style and a presence that is reminiscent of Banks’ heel ‘Boss’ persona, and has a charisma that would shine in a match against her. In some ways, a match would represent the passing of the old guard, as Belair takes her rightful place as the resident bad girl of NXT.
Having signed a contract in 2016 and debuting in 2017, Belair has improved in leaps and bounds, carving out a name for herself as one of NXT’s most impressive and innovative new prospects. As a participant in WWE Evolution, Belair would have the chance to show off the future of wrestling and make a definitive statement that she’s here to stay.
