WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura has brought the title up with him as part of an amazing heel run and a feud with Jeff Hardy. At SummerSlam, the King of Strong Style is more than deserving of a better, fresher opponent who can tear the house down with him over the title.

Since Shinsuke Nakamura’s heel turn at WrestleMania 34, the WWE’s premier Japanese star has been turning out some of the best work of his main roster career. Aside from his great character work, Nakamura seems to really love what he’s doing, and his matches with AJ Styles, and more recently his feud with Jeff Hardy, have shown just that.

Though Hardy is now involved in a vicious feud with Randy Orton, Nakamura will see him one last time at SummerSlam. But, what if we could change all that? If we could rewind the WWE world, we could create a better feud, not to mention a newer feud for Nakamura. The WWE would only have a couple weeks to put together a new feud for the King of Strong Style, but we can make it work.

With a title around his waist, the premise of said feud doesn’t exactly have to be complicated. NXT has recently built their main event scene on the premise of “I want your belt,” so the WWE roster could certainly do the same with their midcard. Keep in mind, this isn’t to say that Jeff Hardy is a bad wrestler, or even a bad opponent for Nakamura, but just that there are better ones available judging by the climate of the WWE. With that in mind, these are three better opponents for Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam.
