With a little under three months until the inaugural edition of WWE’s female-only pay-per-view event, Evolution, rumours have started to circulate regarding who will populate the card from outside the main roster.

The latter stages of the Mae Young Classic have already been confirmed as being a part of the event and it’s almost a lock that the NXT Women’s Championship will be defended. But, perhaps most intriguing is the possibility of a number of legends making their in-ring return. One of the most likely returns will be from WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Trish Stratus.

At 41 years old and with a young family, Stratus is unlikely to be interested in a full-time return to a gruelling WWE schedule but her appearance at the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match in January demonstrates her willingness to make fleeting returns on a part-time basis.

Stratus has earned legendary status in WWE after becoming a 7-time Women’s champion during an era where her outstanding wrestling skills were mostly under-appreciated. Unfortunately, Stratus reached her peak at a time when the company placed a greater degree of importance on the way a female wrestler looked than how she could perform in the ring.

Despite this, Stratus proved her excellent in-ring prowess throughout a storied rivalries with fellow legend, LIta and current superstar, Mickie James.

A seminal event such as Evolution requires some serious star power and Stratus offers that in abundance. Let’s take a look at the best possible opponents for Stratus if she returns at Evolution.
