SummerSlam will mark the third one-on-one meeting between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler since the latter won the Intercontinental Championship in June. Rollins has been on fire in 2018 but it’s The Showoff who should leave The Biggest Party of the Summer with a championship.

After winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania in April, Seth Rollins took over as Raw’s top champion issuing open challenges for his championship. Not too far removed from his record-setting gauntlet performance in February, Rollins quickly built a reputation as Raw‘s workhorse.

The Miz, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Mojo Rawley and Elias all fell to Monday Night Rollins during the course of his hot streak. After retaining at Money in the Bank, Rollins issued another open challenge to which Dolph Ziggler answered the call.

With the run that Rollins was on, Ziggler was likely to be another name in the growing list of unsuccessful challengers which made it all the more stunning when “The Showoff” was crowned Intercontinental Champion for the sixth time.

Since then, Rollins vs. Ziggler has been one of Raw‘s hottest rivalries leading into SummerSlam. With the recent return of Dean Ambrose, Rollins seemed primed to reclaim the Intercontinental Championship but Ziggler has a strong case for leaving Brooklyn with his title in tact.
