Honorable Mentions

Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe (July 29, 2017)

Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe (August 12, 2017)

Brock Lesnar vs. Kane (March 3, 2018)

Brock Lesnar vs. Kane vs. Braun Strowman (March 16, 2018)

Put simply, these four matches may not even exist at all. All four took place on live events, and no official footage has been aired. Seems like a good use of Lesnar’s limited appearances; you’re telling me we couldn’t get at least one of these on Raw?

If I had to venture a guess, the two Samoa Joe matches were probably the best of the bunch. The match on July 29 was in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena, which officially closed the next day. The August 12 match in Tampa was likely more of the same, just not in a building about to be shuttered forever.

The other two matches were Kane matches in 2018, so you kind of know what to expect. The singles match in Chicago on March 3 was probably the worst of the bunch, but a triple threat adding Braun Strowman in Madison Square Garden two weeks later might not have been much better.

Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles (Survivor Series 2017)

If the Universal Championship would have been on the line in this bout, it would easily be one of the highest rated. Unsurprisingly, AJ Styles was involved in one of the best matches of the night, and one of Lesnar’s best singles matches since returning to WWE.

But alas, there was no title on the line in this champion vs. champion bout. And it was a great match in spite of the lack of build, thanks to Styles regaining the WWE Championship just about a week before Survivor Series.
