Braun Strowman
The writing is on the wall for this one. Despite all the corny âMonster in the Bankâ shtick, Braun Strowman still is the heir apparent to the Universal Championship throne. Itâs almost a bit of a surprise that he didnât cash in after all was said and done at SummerSlam, but just having him outside the ring, lying in wait, was both a great visual and added a ton of tension and drama to the showâs main event.
Alas, WWE finally pulled the trigger on the Reigns coronation once again. Aside from WrestleMania 32âs main event, this was the crowning moment of Reignsâs career so far, and if the WWE continues to push him, it likely wonât be the last. But, the fact that WWE has gone back to the status quo in Reigns is significantly spiced up by Braun Strowman always being there, with âPlan Bâ available at any time.
Picture this: In just four weeks, Roman and a challenger have a heated Universal Championship match at Hell in a Cell. Braun, after once again waiting outside the cell the entire time, breaks down the door and lays waste to Reigns after his first successful defense. Shoulder tackle, powerslam, one, two, three.
Not only is Braun the new champion, but by having him stand there and then break down the door after the match, youâve created a massive menacing presence for the whole main event. The fans get their way, but the corporationâs urge for Reigns as champion is curbed for a while.
But what about after Braun wins the title?
