SummerSlam turned out to be a lot better than anyone would have thought. So how does WWE Raw follow that up? Here’s some predictions for tonight’s episode.

WWE Raw has to follow that?

Folks, I can sit here and tell you that I knew SummerSlam was going to be a great show. I can say it had the potential to be amazing, and there was no chance WWE would drop the ball. But that would be a lie: I’ve seen main roster pay per views fall short of expectations my whole life.

So imagine my surprise when SummerSlam wasn’t completely overshadowed by NXT TakeOver the night before. Has that happened since TakeOver got attached to the Big Five PPVs?

Three out of the four championships on WWE Raw changed hands at the pay per view, so there’s bound to be some new directions in the storytelling. A surprise appearance from a particular superstar’s alter-ego also brings up some questions. So here’s our predictions for this week’s episode of Raw.

Cinderella Story Over

The one championship that stayed right where it was at SummerSlam was the Raw Tag Team Championship. True to form, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel spent the entire match on the receiving end of a bunch of punishment from The Revival on the Kickoff Show. But a quirky finish — which I loved, because it actually flowed with the match it didn’t seem as contrived as it was — ensured a B-Team victory.

But that’s gotta be it, right? The B-Team has run its course as champions, and there’s enough other tag teams who could benefit from a championship run that we should get a title change on Raw. Even Dash and Dawson have a gripe for a rematch: Dawson had Axel pinned for at least a seven count before Bo’s clumsiness reversed the pin for the victory.

Maybe rehabbing the Authors of Pain by letting them destroy The B-Team for the titles is on deck. Just give us a video of Bo and the Axe Man convincing Reigns to celebrate as champions together first.
