Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Lana And Rusev

Lana and Rusev lost to Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas at SummerSlam due to Vega’s cheating, as she used the ropes to roll up Lana for the cheap win. The heels need some comeuppance, even though Almas and Vega are a top-notch tandem in WWE.

Aiden English wasn’t to blame for Rusev Day’s loss at SummerSlam, and it will be interesting to see if he and Rusev make amends soon. In the meantime, Rusev and Lana were getting the better of Vega and Almas in the early going until the break.

From then on, Vega isolated Lana in the corner, and while Lana had some brief hope when she traded roll-ups, it took her some time to get to Rusev. Vega used all of her strength to pull back Lana, before she eventually hooked up Rusev with the hot tag.

After Rusev got the better end of Almas, Vega tried to annoy him into a mistake. Instead, Lana came out to spear and silence Vega. Almas tried to enter the fray with a steel chair, but Aiden English stepped in to swipe the chair away. Then, Almas became a sitting duck, as Rusev hit him with a Machka Kick followed by an Accolade for a satisfying win.

English celebrated on the ramp, and Rusev and Lana were grateful for his help. It looks like English has a place in Rusev Day after all, and it should only be a matter of time before Rusev welcomes him back into the stable.

Grade: B-, A fun little match, and it was awesome to see Lana and Rusev come out on top. The Shinsuke Nakamura promo about the United States Championship immediately after their win makes it seem like this will be the match for the US Title at SummerSlam (Nakamura vs. Rusev). I’d be excited for that, considering how good their match at Fastlane was.
