NXT presented their post Takeover: Brooklyn IV show last night. Could the brand keep up the WWE’s winning streak this week?

Unsurprisingly, NXT: Takeover IV Brooklyn was a resounding success. The card was one of the most consistently brilliant events of all time, and despite the success of SummerSlam, it still managed to overshadow the main roster’s effort.

Post-Takeover NXTs are normally incredibly quiet affairs, with the brand often putting on one or two matches and then presenting fans with loads of highlights footage from the Takeover event.

This week’s show was no different, except for the fact that there was a title on the line in the night’s main event. Pete Dunne, the UK champion, defended his belt against fellow British native, Zack Gibson, in a rematch from their encounter at the UK Tournament in July.

Elsewhere on this week’s show, Bianca Belair was in action against the debuting Deonna Purrazzo, as she attempts to build up some momentum to mount a challenge for Kairi Sane’s newly won NXT Women’s title.

The brand’s next Takeover event, WarGames II, takes places in November, 24 hours before the WWE’s next big four event, Survivor Series. While this week’s show didn’t have any direct mention of the show, it certainly began to plant a few seeds for match-ups at the event, with plenty of the Brooklyn highlight packages focusing on post-match interviews and encounters.

The real build for WarGames, though, will start next week when the whole roster is back in action, so for now, let’s take an in-depth look at this week’s matches and results.
