Summerslam is the biggest party of the summer within WWE and is often touted as the second biggest Pay-Per-View just behind Wrestlemania. But today we found out where the next stop for the show is going to be in 2019.

Today it was announced that SummerSlam 2019 will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw is taking place.

ET Canada (link above) broke the news and provided full information of when and where the show, and the shows surrounding it, will be taking place. The lineup looks like this:

August 10th: NXT TakeOver

August 11th: Summerslam

August 12th: Monday Night Raw

August 13th: SmackDown Live

All four shows will be taking place in the Scotiabank Arena across these dates with tickets becoming available at a later date

WWE’s Executive Vice President John Saboor said in a statement:

"“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto. We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”"

The show will actually be making its comeback to Canada with Summerslam 2004 also being held in Toronto; a show most commonly remembered for the site of Randy Orton becoming the youngest ever World Heavyweight Champion by picking up the championship in the main event.

Personally, I feel Toronto will hugely benefit from WWE taking their second biggest show to the city. As we’ve seen with WrestleMania and SummerSlam in the past; the company takes over the entire place and it brings in a large amount of publicity, revenue and attention to the area.
