With the events of Brooklyn in the rearview mirror, the black and yellow brand now sets its sights toward the second annual NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Note: The author made these predictions without the benefit of spoilers because that would be no fun.

Waiting for NXT to put on a bad TakeOver show is like waiting for LeBron James to decline: it will probably happen eventually, but it won’t occur anytime soon. Furthermore, I don’t think fans truly want to see that happen. I mean, it would take a special kind of masochist to sit around and wait for a wrestling show to fail to live up to his or her high expectations.

Fortunately, WWE’s developmental arm hasn’t hit that lull yet. Everything seems to be clicking: the storylines, matches, and character work have all been high quality over the past several months. All of this culminated with a very entertaining NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn show.

There was an abundance of highlights. The Undisputed ERA and Moustache Mountain added another stellar tag match to their respective catalogs. EC3 and Velveteen Dream tried to out-posture each other in a fun cool-down match. Ricochet won the North American Championship in a scintillating bout. Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane told crafted an amazing story in the ring. And of course, Tommaso Ciampa slinked away with the NXT Championship in a brutal Last Man Standing match against his bitter rival.

After a show like that, how will the NXT creative team follow up? Some of you may already know thanks to the benefit of spoilers and if you do, that’s fine. If you avoided the taping results, then join me in projecting where NXT could be building up for NXT TakeOver: WarGames in November.
