3. Extend his feud with Samoa Joe
Who would’ve thought that in 2019, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe would be feuding over the WWE Championship?! The two TNA alumni have crafted an intriguing storyline together that has peaked fans interest in the title picture for the first time in months. And their in-ring chemistry together remains as powerful as it was during their days working together in the Impact zone.
A third match between the pair has already been announced for Super Showdown at the Australian network special in October so we can expect the rivalry to continue until at least then. While there is every chance that Styles drops the title at Hell in a Cell, it would add greater depth to the story were AJ to remain in possession of the gold. Of course this would likely require some type of non-finish at Hell in a Cell, but that fits the context of the tale being told.
Regardless of the direction planned for the belt following this feud, it makes sense to continue this for the time being. Styles and Joe make for compelling foes and the world title picture hasn’t been this interesting and unpredictable for several months. Having said that, it would be wise for Styles to hold on to the title for a bit longer for another powerful reason.
