Impact Wrestling: The Meta Multiverse of Rosemary and Allie

Something weird and possibly wonderful is happening in the twisted Multiverse of Rosemary and Allie. The Impact Wrestling stars are getting all kinds of meta on social media. Confused? You will be…

"Meta (from the Greek preposition and prefixmeta- (μετά-) meaning “after”, or “beyond”) is a prefix used in English to indicate a concept which is an abstraction behind another concept, used to complete or add to the latter.Credit: Wikipedia"

For those paying attention to Impact Wrestling this year, a noticeable absentee has been, star knockout, Rosemary. Reported by squarecirclesirens.com:

Suffering a torn ACL in February, Rosemary was quickly written off television in a short and devastating loss to, The Undead Bride, Su Yung.

While a blow to The Mistress of the Hive, ever creative, the woman behind the Rosemary visage, has not stayed idle and refuses to gather dust while on the shelf.

In the latter part of 2017, an uneasy alliance formed between The Demon Assassin and her polar opposite, Allie. Bubbly, frothy and always happy, Allie was the smiley face to Rosemary’s green, vomiting, exorcist emoji. The odd couple pairing worked.

On TV, each aided the other. Allie loved her Demon friend, Rosemary tolerated her Bunny. This was entertaining – played straight, for laughs, as a human horror movie but, most importantly, with genuine affection, the law of opposites attract, worked to engage their audience.

While Allie has continued to thrive on the flagship show, Rosemary has become an integral part of Allie’s YouTube channel. A semi regular, extension of wrestling storylines, Allie’s World saw the Bunny introduce The Demon to the human world: coffee, doughnuts and theme parks all featured on the menu.

However, something curious occurred while I was catching up on the latest escapades of the odd couple pairing. In a strange and convoluted plot twist, the sports entertainers that we know collectively as, The Demon Bunny, suffered an amnesiac episode worthy of the finest soap opera. Forgetting their respective identities, both reverted to characters that they have portrayed in different companies in years gone by.

Rosemary became Courtney Rush.

Allie became Cherry Bomb.

On Twitter, the long-dormant accounts of Rush and Bomb were suddenly alive with activity. Primarily, starting Twitter Wars with their alter-egos and reigniting a feud of yesteryear!

And this is where things go into a Meta-verse of the mad and the maniacal.

In a former life Courtney Rush and Cherry Bomb were bitter rivals (primarily over at Smash Wrestling). Trading heel and face stances, this was where the idea and personality of Rosemary became the cackling, possessed soul, we know and love today.

There’s is a rich and interesting history that proved that sports entertainment storytelling can exist and thrive on the independent scene. There is too little space to do this long-standing feud justice here, Smash Wrestling do a grand job of helping you catch up below:

Across social media platforms, Allie/Cherry Bomb and Rosemary/Courtney Rush are creating their own, Marvel-like, expanded universe. A bold and creative move to add layers to their (multiple) personalities and narratives.

While awaiting the repair of her “meat suit”, Rosemary is building on foundations laid by Smash and Impact Wrestling. Rosemary/Rush, having not wrestled since February, is keeping herself relevant. Allie/Bomb is preparing for a glorious comeback story for Team Demon Bunny, OR, a resumption of a blood feud that elevated both performers.

If nothing else, by exploring their different identities across the Multiverse (the theory being that each character exists in different wrestling universes!), the Demon Bunnies are making Rosemary’s absence and return a most interesting chapter in their respective histories.

Impact management should be paying attention. The injury to Rosemary was unfortunate, and came just as Su Yung, a natural rival for the Possessed Meat Suit, debuted. If this is what two of their top talents can do as a spare time, side project, imagine what awaits when given the rising platform of Impact Wrestling.

What awaits for The Hive? Who will return from the Multiverse? Which avatar will win this schizophrenic war of characters?

The Demon Bunny is rising from the dead. And things are getting interesting.
