WWE Raw: Kevin Owens Returns To Attack Bobby Lashley

Last week on WWE Raw, Kevin Owens announced that he had quit, but it only took him one week to get that itch to return again. And his first target? None other than Bobby Lashley?

Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins produced magic for yet another week on the previous episode of WWE Raw, as Owens once against took Rollins to the limit in an Intercontinental Championship match. Unfortunately, Owens went for a high-risk moonsault and missed wildly, which allowed Rollins to capitalize later with a “Stomp” out of nowhere.

Following the loss, a frustrated Owens sat down and proclaimed that he had “quit” WWE. The agony of losing his best friend, Sami Zayn, to an injury compounded with all the huge shots he took at Braun Strowman’s hands all came to a head after Owens was unable to dethrone “The Architect” for the IC Championship.

But Owens couldn’t leave the WWE ring for long, because tonight in Columbus, he resurfaced. Owens attacked Bobby Lashley from behind and it will be interesting to learn what his motivation was for attacking “The Dominator” in such a fashion.

See, Lashley was busy trying to curb his anger in a strange in-ring segment with Jinder Mahal. Moments earlier in the show, Lashley received his performance review from Baron Corbin, which was likely written in crayon, who surmised that Lashley has anger issues and needed to partake in counseling with the Modern Day Maharaja.

Predictably, Lashley had no clue what he was doing during the meditation, which was undeniably hilarious. Towards the end, he started making weird faces at something off camera, so I’m guessing he was confused to see Owens before being attacked from behind.

Lesson learned in WWE. Even during guided meditation, you can never let your guard down for one second.

At SummerSlam, Owens was beaten by Strowman in decisive fashion, whereas Lashley didn’t have a match on the card after his possible match with Elias was seemingly scrapped. Neither man seemed to have any direction for the upcoming Hell in a Cell Pay Per View on Sept. 16, and it would be weird for Lashley, who was only recently acquired from Impact Wrestling as a big splash reunion for WWE, to miss two Pay Per Views in a row.

It looks like we’re getting Owens vs. Lashley in out-of-nowhere fashion. Knowing how talented these two men are, this match should be an entertaining one.

More importantly, I loved that we saw the Owens of old here. He was a bad-ass Prizefighter, as he went all-out in his attack of Lashley, bringing out the beloved powerbomb on the apron to send a strong message to The Dominator.
